Programs

HCCF provides a wide range of services and programs to our families, including financial assistance, support groups, social events, education, and advocacy. All HCCF services and programs are entirely free to our children and families.

Kokua Baskets

Given to newly diagnosed children and their families, these baskets contain everything from gift cards to stuffed animals and blankets to help them have a better hospital stay. The basket is accompanied by a book that tells parents about their child’s type of cancer.

Financial Assistance

Our most widely used program is the financial assistance program, which helps families pay expenses not covered by insurance, including housing, utilities, and transportation.

Request Financial Assistance

If your child has, or has had, cancer (diagnosed before the age of 21 years) and has received cancer treatment in Hawaii, you may be eligible for assistance, based on our guidelines. Please download and complete the Patient Assistance Application Form and mail, fax, or email it to HCCF if you would like to apply for financial assistance.

Download the Financial Assistance Application Form.

Book Reimbursement

This program provides childhood cancer survivors who are attending college or a vocational training program with funds for the purchase of books, supplies, or equipment.

Frank Seleny College Scholarship

Awarded once a year, these scholarships help defray tuition costs for young adult survivors of childhood cancer. Download the Frank Seleny College Scholarship Application. Applications are due May 31 of the application year.

Annual Workshops

Each year, HCCF brings nationally recognized speakers to Hawaii to discuss issues about childhood cancer and survivorship with our families.
